Responsibilities for the "Staff of Virtual Worlds"

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applications:

  • ALL applicants must fill out a Virtual Worlds Employment Application Form and agree to undergo a background check.  Applicants may keep their current position until the background check has been completed and they are hired.

  • There can be only one Colony Staff Position held per CyberTown Identity. However, a Block Leader may be in charge of two Blocks within the same neighborhood.

  • All applicants must meet Colony hiring requirements. These requirements are:

    • Clean security record, only minor offenses:

      • foul language[one infraction]
      • flooding complaints
      • shouting{writting in capitals}

    • Must live in the block and neighborhood where employed.

    • Must supply contact information to their Neighborhood Deputy.

Probation Period:

  • The Colony Leader  may fire any Virtual World Staff member without stating a cause or ask them to take another  Virtual Worlds Staff job.  This would not be subject to C.E.R.B review.  All such actions would be done after private consultation with those involved.  However,  someone could be taken out of access for security reasons but not be considered fired.  Example: a staff member whose  I.D. is suspected as being stolen.

  • All new staff will be on probation period for the first 90 days and can be dismissed from their job if there is a personality clash, disruption of harmony in the Colony, shows lack of respect on the message boards towards the Colony or other citizens.

Performance:

  • Staff hired should log on regularly. There should be a staff member available every day of the week in the neighborhoods. Exceptions can be made for vacations. Notify your Neighborhood Deputy of your intensions so coverage of duties can be made in advance. If you are going on vacation, please put "VAC" in your house name and let the Neighborhood Deputy know how long you will be gone.

Posting Rules:

Restrictions and Responsibilities:

  • Neighborhood Leaders shall be responsible for maintaining each Neighborhood's Fund Account.

  • Each staff level will perform the duties of lower staff members in their absence.  Block Leader access will be filled by the ND's if no BlockLeader, by Neighborhood Leader if no ND, by Colony Deputy if no NL and by the Colony Leader if no CD.

  • The Colony, Neighborhood and Block Message Boards are not to be modified without the advance permission of a Colony Deputy in general, and the Colony Tech CD in particular.

  • There will be no changing of the Block Map Background Images by anyone except the Tech CD.

  • The Colony Deputies will assist in the appointing and training of new personnel to fill vacant spots as needed. They also will assist in neighborhood sweeps and reports.

  • It is the Virtual World's policy to Promote from within it's own ranks when ever possible.

  • The Colony Leader will appoint/promote Neighborhood Leaders.

  • All staff has the responsibility to stay informed of changes in Colony policies, rules and regulations.

STAFF TRAINING TO INCLUDE:

  • Checking Images:

    • Images that are not appropiate, by CT Family Standards, {Insert link to the  Constitution here}  should NOT be unchecked and the Colony Deputy should be notified through staff reports.

  • Checking House Names:

    • Names of homes should reflect job titles and be acceptable by CT Family Standards.

    • Anyone with a false title on their house is at risk of Disciplinary action, including House deletion if the request to remove title from their house is ignored or refused.

  • Checking Bots:

    • Bots should be programmed within city standards. Since it will be hard to check what a bot says, any bot programmed to say unacceptable responses can lead to the house being referred to Security and Deletion since this will be considered as being deceptive.

  • Checking Message Boards:

    • Report any inappropiate messages or images to your Neighborhood Leader before they are removed.  Remove old messages according to your Neighborhood's Policy.

  • Checking Home Page(s) URL's and Links:

    • Anything linked or referred to must meet CyberTown Family Standards.

    • Check images, house names, and bots. Questionable images and messages should be reported to the Neighborhood Leader up thru the staff so all are aware. Leave a message with the resident that it is unacceptable and to change it immediately or risk further action including House Deletion.

  • Checking Block Access:

    • On the owner page only Founder, COM and OppCOM should be checked unless someone is working in the block.  All other Access Pages should be totaly unchecked.

  • Updating "Free" Spots:

    • No homes allowed on the roads, trees, or umbrellas! If we continue to find homes in the roads, umbrellas, or trees it will lead to job termination.

Reports:

  • By Wednesday midnight, the Block Leaderss should be giving their reports to their Neighborhood Deputies. On Thursdays, the Neighborhood Deputies should pass their reports to the Neighborhood Leader and on Fridays, the final report of the hood should be passed up to the Colony Leader along with a fresh staff report.

  • Notify the Neighborhood Leader of any employment turn-over. Please keep a copy of any "warnings" that were given out.

  • Staff should check for and include in their reports any resident that has less than 100 experience points and has not logged on to CyberTown for at least 30 days. In addition, check for and report residents that have not accessed CyberTown for longer than three months.

Code of Conduct:

  • You are representing your Block, Hood and Colony, any violation of the constitution shall result in immediate dismissal. This includes, but not limited to, repeated rude behavior such as foul language, threats, flooding or shouting in public places. You must set an example for others to follow.

  • If you want to post a VW event on other colonies message boards, you will have to get permission from the Colony Leader of the message board you want to post on.

  • If you need to express a personal opinion make sure that everyone knows that it is a personal opinion and does not necessarily reflect the views of your Block, Hood or Colony.

  • Cooperate with Security at all times.
